Faculty research and teaching at business schools are often perceived to be disconnected endeavors, mutually exclusive. Join us in Dubai for a master class led by Deputy Dean for Academic Programs and Professor in the Practice of Management, Anjani Jain, as he describes an extensive research program that originated in basic questions posed to students in the classroom, and led to theoretical advances in operations management. 

The research findings, in turn, have been incorporated in his course curricula.  The research has implications for the impact of the growth of product variety and customization on upstream processes of manufacturing and associated supply chains. The mutually reinforcing role of teaching and research is not atypical of the Yale SOM faculty’s scholarly work.
